The homes and buildings are designed not only to show the artifacts, but also to illustrate the lifestyle of a prairie community. As well as the life of early pioneers you can also discover the trials of early frontier entrepreneurs; following along on their journey of trading furs for goods and living away from their families. Browsing through the homes and the many displays therein; it will allow you to appreciate the hardships and joys of the early settlers in the prairie District. The Fort la Reine Museum is carving out its niche as a living history museum where history comes alive! Also the Fort la Reine Museum features many special events during its operating season as well as signature off season events that are holiday oriented or theatrically based.
